Tell your friend to email CP with all the details and list everything they lost. CP will replace them. They've replaced my stuff before. It's really important that everyone reports their bugs to CP. You're not being a nuisence (even if you think a whole bunch of people have already reported the same bug), you're accually helping them improve their website!

No, my penguin was not a different color when I logged on. But I do have some ideas why your penguin was blue when you logged on. They are:
a) Maybe someone is hacking your account. You should try changing your password, and see if this happens again.
b)Maybe a 'Bug' on Clubpenguin is doing that, try contacting Clubpenguin.

About the background - it was actually released a long time ago, but it made a comeback. I got it the first time, but now, I'm happy that others can enjoy it too!
About the blue glitch, the same thing happened to me yesterday, and I lost my purple colour (which I was wearing,) too! I'm okay now though!

It has to be something with the CPIP project, and the snow fort's clock.
The most likely thing is that I lost black. So I had to buy it again. Club Penguin owes me 20 coins!
This is happening to like everyone. You should be missing the color you first started out with. Like when you made your account, the color you picked for your penguin should be gone. SO BIZARRE!

There would really be no point in Mimo buying all the backrounds, because he will only wear one. He only wears one, because he wants to having a "signature" look. If Mimo changed his backround, color, clothes, etc all the time no one would recongnize him easily. It just wouldn't be the same Mimo we all know.

The color you chose when you first signed up for CP should be the one you lost. But, don't buy a new one because CP should and will return our colors to us for no charge.
Also, Mimo doesn't add just anybody to his list. He recently cleared the whole thing out, and had a party and the first 10 people got on his buddy list. I'm sure he'll have another buddy list party, soon! So keep your eye open for clues! If you haven't already, you can sign to be on his Ultimate Buddy List. (Link found on the right hand pannel, at the top)

I found a glitch. I had the color black. I didn't like it so I switched to orange. Then my buddy told me to turn back to black. So i looked at my inventory and it was gone! This also happened to my buddy. I reported this glitch and the buddy list glitch (a glitch where a penguin tries to buddy another penguin but the second penguin doesn't get the buddy request. It also happens the other way around). If you can't buddy someone because of that glitch (the buddy list glitch) log off then log back on in the same server and try again. I told this to someone. But at first she wouldn't believe me. Then about 15 minutes later, she tried it. And it worked! And she kept thanking me...

Actually, the cave has been around for a number of years now ;-) Since you may not have ever found it before, you may have thought it was a new room! The cave is so cool though, isn't it?! Only really clever penguins can find it on the map!

this happened to me to. exept it is not a hack its a glich.
its cause the main color is blue

this happened to me too! i was so scared.
i'm a member and when i logged on, cp took me through a whole welcome to club penguin introduction and when that happened i was a little suspicious. but when i actually started playing, my penguin was navy blue and ALL my stuff was gone, even my puffles. it was devastating.
but then i tried logging off and on a few times and now everything is back to normal.
blue is the defult color for when ur color hasent loaded
