Club Penguin on iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch?

Not sure if you have been following some of the techy stuff out there. The new iPhone is coming out soon and they are selling zillions of iPads!

I WANT ONE! ;-]

But all this got me thinkin...

What is Club Penguin going to do?

You may not know this but Club Penguin is made in Adobe Flash. BUT FLASH DOES NOT WORK ON iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch!

All these Apple devices use HTML5 instead of Flash.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?!

Well, Club Penguin will need to make a decision. First do they care? Of course they do! They want and they need more penguins, right?

So, Club Penguin has 4 choices:

1. Do nothing. Not smart.
2. Convert Club Penguin from Flash to HTML5. BIG BUCKS!
3. Make Club Penguin into an iPad Game App. This might work. This might NOT work.
4. Just make Club Penguin Mini Games for the iPad and stay with the Flash site.

Now here's what I think they will do.

Club Penguin has made 2 Nintendo DS games. They are making a Wii Game.

I think they WILL first make iPad/iPhone Game Apps! They will do this first before making it possible for full Club Penguin game to be played on the iPad/iPhone.

I THINK CLUB PENGUIN WILL BE THE FIRST REAL BIG VIRTUAL WORLD TO CONVERT THEIR FULL GAME TO IPAD!

Look for it... ;-]

hi there
one problem with converting clubpenguin to html five is that old versions of IE dont support it, which could make it so people that use old internet explorer versions not be able to play. I think most libraries have old versions of internet explorer. many poeple who use internet explorer do not update to the most recent version. HTML5 is relatively new, and not all browsers support it. also, html 5 is not as powerful as flash, its not a programming language like flash is. If they were going to make it without flash, they would mainly have to make it with javascript (and ajax I think) not just HTML5.

HTML5 alone would not be enough to port clubpenguin to. you would need javascript.

I am not sure the iPad supports javascript but I think it probably does.

almost all versions of internet explorer support javascript I think all of them do.

porting the clubpenguin client to javascript wouldnt really make them money, but there are some clever people that might be able to make a javascript version, although it wouldnt look the same probably, but you might be able to see where different people were and say things...

if that was to long and you didnt read it:
it wouldnt be in html5 it would be in javascript. html5 wouldnt work because it doesent have variables javascript does. it would not benefit clubenguin to make it like that. it might not work very well on old internet browsers. some nice smart people might make it but i dont think disney will. the only way clubpenguin would benefit would be from publicity from it
