This week CPG has heard from Safa 153 and from a bunch of you about Club Penguin dropping our favorite parties lately. I think it's time we discussed this!
Let's start with Christmas, yeah Christmas.
Club Penguin did have a party, but they called it a "Holiday Party". But they dropped the Christmas. Hmm.
St. Patrick's Day? Nope, no party. I wonder why?
Easter Egg Hunt? You wish. Didn't happen!
So, let's give Club Penguin a ton of credit. Their parties and stuff have been getting better and better, right?
So what do you think about Club Penguin dropping our favorite holiday parties? And WHY do you think they are dropping them?

I don't think it's riligeon because why have all those parties last year not now? I think it's because of Herbertb I think Club Penguin wants us to be safe from him. They skipped the water party because the window has to break for a water party scince the window hasn't broken they will not have a water party. Another reason is that they might be working on the new mission or a Club Penguin Movie!

disney are changing it because of different religions other than Christian. St patricks day because not every one in the world celebrates it.

Now this is why CP should do these partys. We might not have other religious celebrations but it's good for others to experience what the staff of CP celebrate. It's good to know about other cultures and hey, it might help you down the track.

Here is why: Because Disney is telling them to have non-religious parties. Parties everyone can celebrate! I celebrate all of those, but some kids don't and can't. They did the Penguin Play Awards- Non religious. They did the take flight thing last year- Non religious. If you were one of those kids who isn't allowed to celebrate holidays of those because of religion, and that's all the parties they had on Club Penguin... wouldn't you be sad?

Well I have an idea!
They called christmas the holiday party so that it includes everyone. They were busy with the mission and penguin play awards so they couldn't do the st patricks day party. The easter egg hunt couldn't be done because of the work with the new mission and april fools day party.
So that's what I think about it.

I think now that they are with Disney the are too worried about what people will think about religious holidays! I think it's terrible that they are so anti-religion!!!!!!!
I don't believe the parties were dropped because of religious reasons. Easter and Christmas are HIGHLY commercialized holidays and people celebrate St. Patrick's Day regardless if they're Irish or not because it's a fun little holiday.
I think it's not fair. Maybe they think it's unfair to other people, but who cares! We like these parties a lot!

I know, i am very disappointed. I understand they were probably busy with Puffle Rescue and the awards during St. Patrick's Day, but i am shocked that they didn't have an Egg Hunt this year which means no Blue Bunny Ears for us. :( But yeah, i guess it is because of religious reasons.

I think it's definitley about religion. Because Christmas: Baby Jesus could offend somone? I dunno but lots of people celebrate different ways. Hannakuh,Christmas(weird) etc. For St.Paddys day I'm lost. I really dunno. But Easter is also christian so meh. It's kinda sad because those are major holiday partys, and have been going on for ever in CP. Although the cheesy thing is,they had a Halloween party,right? And we have halloween because of a scottish or irish tradition,right? And St.paddys day is the same. which is weird. But yeah know. Mimo luv ur site!

No duh that this is all because of religion. Not everybody celebrates christmas. SAINT Patrick's day (kinda self explanatory). And again not everybody celebrates easter. In fact the majority of the world population don't celebrate any of these parties.

Mimo, I agree with you! I really like club penguins parties and i had been really looking forward to the Easter egg hunt and St. Patrick's day party. When I sent a question to CP they said it was because not all people celebrate these holidays so they wanted to have parties for holidays that more people celebrate. Hope this helped! :)

Yeah seriously!! Why does CP have to get rid of our FAVORITE parties and spice the ones we DON'T like up?? They could've at LEAST given us the Easter Egg hunt since it has nothing to really do with religion. I just sent CP an email and if I get anything back, you know where I'll be!!

I understand the name change for the "christmas" party because of other religions and tolerance. And the easter party was dropped because they decided to make the april fools party last longer than a day or two this year. but i was really disappointed in them not doing a st.patrick's day party! there was no reason to get rid of that one!

Club Penguin has been dropping those parties probably because of the Christian themes behind them. And since they're now owned by Disney, Disney doesn't want to have to deal with those themes, since they support something completely different. it might also be budget but i mean come on! Its Disney! they earn like 30.8 billion dollars in a year on ONE show!

The Easter Egg hunt is one of my favorite things to do on Club Penguin! I was really looking forward to it! I was so disappointed that it wasn't there! But I really think its because religion because Christmas is about God, St. Patty's is about a saint, and Easter is also about God.
Those holidays are sort of "religious' and they sort of favor Christians. Jewish people do not celebrate Easter,Christmas,or St.Patrick's Day.
It's sort of fair, this way we are not being biast to the other religions. But I still love the Easter egg hunt! I want my blue bunny ears!!

Even if they don't have an 'Easter Egg Hunt', they can still call it a "Spring Egg Hunt" or "Bunny Egg hunt' so we can at least look for eggs.

I know! I celebrate Christmas so I think that they should have a Christmas party. If other people celebrate things like Hanukkah, then why not have a Hanukkah party too? Very confusing. :)

Why not just celebrate the other holidays like the Jewish holidays then? That would mean that CP would have a lot of parties which means more fun for us penguins! Even if it's a really small holiday like, hmmm, President's day? Then we could have an AWESOME CP party! haha!

Mimo it may be that all those hoildays are Cristian. Cristmas is about Jesus birth but now its all bout santa and toys. St. Particrks day is when St.particrk went out to england and spread the cristian faith. Easter is bout Jesus restrion but now its all bout eggs and stuff.
Its all because of Disney.
With them adding new players some don't celebrate the Holidays.
*Eg. They celebrated St.Patricks day because of the Famine of 1845 in Ireland which got the Irish (like me( over to America,England and Australia. With this they went on "Coffin Ships" most died the way over.
So people all over America,England and Australia celebrated St.Patricks day over there and so did Club Penguin.Now that Portigul and others are playing Club Penguin they won't have a clue whats going on so they get rid of the holidays*

Mimo, I think I know why. All of those things have one thing in common: religion. Christmas, of course, is a religious holiday. St. Patrick's is too, and the Easter egg hunt is for Easter, which is a religious holiday. They probably got rid of them so people of other religions wouldn't feel left out. They should still give us some way to get those items somehow, though. Thanks for reading!

They don't make our favorite parties because;
Christmas: Some people dont celebrate christmas, but maybe they could make 2 or 4 day sof one christmas celebration, and 2 or 4 days of the other celebrations ppl do.
St.Patrick's Day: I think they were so busy with the PPA(Penguin Play Awards), that they didn't have time. There should only be PPA(Penguin Pla Awards) every other year.
Easter Egg Hunt:I think they were too busy with AF(April Fool's). April Fool's is only one day in real life, so why didn't they make it one day instead of 4 days? And AF(April Fool's) did't have any new items,(except the King Jester Hat).
Club Penguin should have a break. They are tired because they make too many partys. Just give them a break! But they are still skipping our favorite parties!
hey, i know the whole reason behind it but they cold still just have the party but not call it the easter party or the christmas party. instead they could have the spring party or winter party! it would still fit the holiday theme but just not offend any religion.

Last year they didn't bother to do that funfair party thing in Autumn like they did in 2008. And get this people...it's nothing to do with religion! I don't celebrate St.Patrick's or Christmas but I still enjoy having fun at the parties.

Religious minorities (and that includes me, so I feel confident talking about this) are used to the Christmas/Easter obsession, and as long as CP isn't putting up giant crosses all over the place, I couldn't care less if something is labeled a "Christmas party". In fact, I love their Christmas parties (and thought it was way above the call of duty when they put a menorah in the Coffee Shop a couple of years ago--thanks for that, CP!). If this is because of religion that they're doing this, it's a losing battle. Though I don't want just one religion to be emphasized, it's not fair to the majority of people, Christian or not, who are okay with at least the secular side of Christmas, if Club Penguin caters to the small minority of people who are virulently opposed to secularity and/or any religion but theirs. If people don't like parties with Christmas trees, then they shouldn't come to the party (again, I'm saying this as a religious minority). Please, CP, reconsider your parties next year!!

They actually had a good reason.
They couldn't do a Christmas party because not everybody celebrates Christmas. If they did Christmas then they would of had to do Hanukkah and many other holidays.
Its the same thing with Easter. Everybody believes and celebrates different things. They can't say only people who celebrate these holidays can be on Club Penguin it wouldn't of been fair.
I think it's because of religion and rights. They don't want to offend people by having Christmas and Easter parties and they don't want a St Patrick's day party because it may upset people? I don't know but if they don't wanna upset people then they should have a St George's day, St Patrick's day, St David's day and St Andrew's day party. Because in truth it's offensive to those from those places. But oh well, we can't change that.

It's great that you're ok but other people might feel more sensative about stuff like this. Also there has been a lot of stuff on the news about religion at the moment. So club penguin might just be doing different parties and missing a few just to be on the safe side.

I dont, and I hate how everyone acts like there is one religon, and only that religon's holidays exist.

And actually millions are dissapointed with some parties missing! Some new parties sucked like the adventure party,hardly anything was decorated. I miss the tunnel slides instead of ski lifts,burger shops,ice cream shops,water slides,barbeque's..of the water party.
I know the real reason. Club Penguin doesn't want to be 'too religeous.' Many people disagree about USA (and other countries)being a 'God following country.' Christmas and Easter's TRUE meanings have something to do with the Christian religeon. St. Patty's day, If you look at the history of st. patrick, you will realize that it is, as well, a religeous holiday. Therefore, Club Penguin may be trying to keep the seperation between Church and State (if you know your history), unlike keeping it together, like in the past. Sadly, this does stink for all of those fun cool parties. :(

I wrote to them about it and they said, " The penguins in charge decided to shift the focus onto more global celebrations." St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by over 50 million people. Easter is celebrated by a lot of people too. That's not enough "global" for them. Only like 5 countries get Club Penguin anyway!!

Saint Patrick's Day because Saint Patrick was of course a Saint (duh.)
Easter because that celebrates the fact that Jesus rose from the dead, and that might offend Jewish People.
Christmas because it celebrates Jesus being born. Of course, calling it a Holiday Party is even more "worse" since that word means Holy Day in Greek I think.
BTW This is answering pretty much everyone's questions so....I guess it counts as modding!

Christmas party: not everyone in the world celebrates Christmas, but people from different countries which do NOT celeberate Christmas do play club penguin - thats why they renamed it a "holiday party" (or whatever, forgot).
ST. Patrick's Party: Same reason...
Easter Egg Hunt Party: Same reason.
But then, why celebrate: Halloween parties, thanksgiving parties, and summer vacation parties - I know 30+ countries that do not have a "summer vacation" in the summer, but rather in the winter. These countries include Australia, New Zealand, China, India, and many more!
Conclusion: rather ceases to exist; lack of proof.

The Christmas party was probably changed to Holiday party because of religion... but it's still the same old Christmas party.
I hope the St. Patrick's Day and Egg Hunt come back next year. It's kinda unfair that CP is keeping all the older parties away from us...

Yeah, every event that they have cancelled has been tied to religion....Christmas is when Christ is born. St. Patricks day is when the St. Patrick explains the holy trinity. And easter is when jesus rises again. I'm guessing CP is going non-catholic and getting rid of those partys. That really stinks. It's because Disney made Club Penguin religiously neutral, and they do not want to celebrate Christian holidays, such as Easter, Christmas and St. Patricks day. As a Christian I find this wrong, as most of the world population is a Christian, and other religions perhaps enjoyed our parties.

I think there dropping those type of parties because they have to much to do with a certain religion. I think that Club Penguin wants their parties to be more for all pf the penguins, that are from many different religions.

I think this is very wrong because religion is a big part in u.s. and i know that not all of the people on this world do not celebrate those holidays.But most of us do and i am a christian and i think it is wrong to put holiday party then christmas party. The reason for the season is christ.They need to have these partys for the most of us christians out here.

Hey I did research and Easter has almost NOTHING to do with religion! It is the First sunday after the first new moon after the vernal equinox. Its a christian holiday, BUT it has nothing to do with god... SO WHY CP WHY!!!!!
i miss st patricks day sooo much cus i would have loved to see a little lepracon strolling around cp on all servers. The holiday party was kinda the Christmas party.And the eater egg hunt we all miss the free item lol imagne if they made a mimo easter egg and the item was a mimo t shirt lol.

I am a muslim and i 100% understand what cp did....they did the best thing for cp by deleting those parties or renaming them.
But about ST Patricks day,it was my first party on club penguin, i have 759 days today.....And i also got 390 days of membership that means level 3 membership badge!
I emailed them and asked them and they said because not everyone celebrates them like Polkadotblu9 said so they probably will not ever have them again. :(

They were dropped because they have to do with Christ. Christmas celebrates his birth. St. Patrick spread Christianity to Ireland. And Easter is when he died but rose again. They are crazy. The holidays are about him. But they can't take him away from our hearts for those who have been washed in his blood and forgiven.
Well i don't care about the name change. The easter egg hunt last year was a bit of a fail anyway. However the partys they have done is much better and the outfits! I guess clubpenguin wanted us to do our own st patrick partys in our iggys as they gave us a bunch loads of furniture sooo i think it's cool. More partys in our iggys and the "Holiday Party" was better this year anyway and i guess it is the holiday season Christmas is only one day however the snow and decorations are for about a month

Here is why: Because Disney is telling them to have non-religious parties. Parties everyone can celebrate! I celebrate all of those, but some kids don't and can't. They did the Penguin Play Awards- Non religious. They did the take flight thing last year- Non religious. If you were one of those kids who isn't allowed to celebrate holidays of those because of religion, and that's all the parties they had on Club Penguin... wouldn't you be sad?

Buddhist countries wouldn't celebrate Easter, Christmas, or St. Pattie's. Places like america have many different religions. Religion is the root of WHY it is not celebrated in all countries.
The winter fiesta and water parties were some of the good parties. CP has been lazier decorating. And the Aprils fool's party? THAT WAS THE SAME THING AS LAST YEAR'S! Except in LAST YEARS, you got a different propeller beanie. The red one IS OLD. I ALREADY HAD IT. And, last year, there was a box store.

The water 'Summer vacation' party is appropriate. As hard as it may be for some of your minds to grasp, if you live south tof the equator, June, July, and August are in WINTER. Oct... Nov... Dec... are in SUMMER. Their season's are OPPOSITE ours, because of earth's axis. So, the 'Winter Fiesta' would be their summer *NOT VACATION* party.
And an even HARDER concept to grasp for SOME of you, some schools DO NOT have a summer vacation, but instead Have school one month and none the next.
Its because those are "Christian" holidays and Club penguin alow all religions to join but they dont want to upset other penguins from a different religion.The other reason is they have a family like you and I and just want to go home to visit them on holidays

I think it's definitley about religion. Because Christmas: Baby Jesus could offend somone? I dunno but lots of people celebrate different ways. Hannakuh,Christmas(weird) etc. For St.Paddys day I'm lost. I really dunno. But Easter is also christian so meh. It's kinda sad because those are major holiday partys, and have been going on for ever in CP. Although the cheesy thing is,they had a Halloween party,right? Club Penguin later stated in a letter that yes they didn't do the parties, but they had a longer April Fools party-- which was like a day longer :P (stupid) and that there would be a new upcoming party- the earth day party.
i think it has 2 do w/ religons, notice they changed it from CHRISTMAS to holiday and dropped the EASTER eggs hunt and the SAINT patricks day party. Chirstmas and Easter r the major holidays 4 christians and St PAtraicks day is devoted to a saint. i think some athist complained 2 them and threatened 2 sue them. jsut like they did the the USA's public school system
