"We recognize that lots of you have so many different kinds of celebrations this time of year and we want everyone to feel included so instead of calling it a Christmas Party this year we're calling it the Holiday Party."
Just one question Club Penguin. If you want everyone to feel included why to you have MEMBERS ONLY ROOMS?! HUH?!
Listen everyone, I like Club penguin a lot! And I am not one of those people that think Disney made Club Penguin worse. BUT THIS "HOLIDAY" PARTY THING IS ALL DISNEY's IDEA!
Does it make sense to you that you can get a SANTA hat and CHRISTMAS trees are everywhere if it's a Holiday Party? Come on!

Your a republican so you don't understand that there are people who want to help things like the poor, the ill, and the envirorment. So if you want to state an argument about something, make sure you present an agrument that makes the slightest bit of sense to who your talking to.
Yeah your right just calling it a holiday party doesn't automatically include everyone they should have menorahs and also Kwanza stuff. Also, I'm only a member for a month and when my membership ends, i would like to be included in more activities.

I think it's good how they're calling it a holiday party instead of a Christmas party. Becuz, my friend isn't allowed to celebrate holidays like Christmas, so I was never sure if she was allowed to get on Club Penguin around that time. But, yea, Christmas trees are kinda...Christmas-y.

OK i like club penguin as much as the next person but they should be a little more considerate. If it's a *holiday* party shouldn't there be more variety of decorations. they should add furniture for the other holidays too, instead of making it all Christmas junk! Seriously I would be mad too if my holiday or religious belief was being ignored.

Guys, MILLIONS of children play Club penguin. Disney can't possibly afford to keep every single one of them happy. I'm not trying to hate on Mimo or all his fans, but CP is doing the best they can to give us all a happy holidays. And, the sleigh ride isn't really that great. U get a santa outfit at the end, which you can get from the treasure book by buying a toy. Even though there is some part of every party that is for members, They're not always that amazing. I mean, come on, it's a game, right? Please don't take this comment offensive, I personally believe CP could try to include nonmembers a little more, but we don't need to get upset over every little member activity. And, they could put up some Hanukkah and Kwanza decorations. Thanx :]

they should have different parts of the island be a different holiday. ex. the plaza be Xmas, the town be Hanukkah, the ski hill be Kwanzaa,and the beach be Chinese new year. then you could get free items from all different types of holidays. the other parts of the island should just remain the same.

Yeah, it has Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE and they call it the "holiday" party. If you are mad at CP, don't be. It's all Disney. They messed up the filters so you can't even say some things that are NOT bad. They have a lot of things for members and it's not fair (even if I am one). Who remembers the skull emote too!? Thats not even half of it either.
I knew things would mess up with Disney. Sorry to make you think about this over break, but that's just how it is. Anyway, Happy Holidays to you, whatever you beleive in!

Good point! I'm a nonmember and they want to "include" everyone but only members get to have fun! The nonmembers get the Santa hat and a background! Is it just me or is that cheap? If they wanted to "include" all the cultures they would have thought of that BEFORE they put the party up!
CP Might as well call every party a MEMBER PARTY, give out free items that say " I AM A MEMBER AND I AM BETTER THAT YOU," and have everyone dance the Member-tango. Sorry for the sarcasam.

but u can't frost and festoon club penguin with nothing but christmas decorations and then announce that u feel like acknowledging other traditions. um, HOW much work would it have been to insert a couple of kinaras or dreidels into the decor????? at least they tried.....

to Bumper98 and everybody else who was worried (or not worried) about spelling hanukkah wrong: hanukkah, which is a hebrew word, can be spelled any way you want in English, because hebrew has its own alphabet (with different characters for the letters), and it includes some sounds not found in english. so u got it right! dreidel is a yiddish (a language mostly based on german) word, but yiddish is written in hebrew letters, so the same principle applies.
thx for writing a post about this, mimo. it may not be what cp wants to hear, but you're right--it's the holidays, and everyone (members and nonmembers) should get to do the same fun activities, such as the sleigh ride.

Well, by everyone they mean the other people who don't celebrate Christmas. There are some people who celebrate Hanukkah, so they won't have a clue when people put up Christmas trees and pictures of Santa Claus instead of Stars of David an unleavened bread. This is my opinion, OK? They don't have to get rid of the Christmas trees, but just include other cultural stuff, you know what I mean? It's a bit too late to call it a Holiday Party, so if BillyBob's reading this, you might want to save it 'till next year...

i'm saying this as someone who celebrates hanukkah. most jewish kids attend public schools, watch tv in december, and have friends who celebrate christmas. we know exactly what christmas is, the songs and traditions associated with it--even the reason christmas started. and most of us? totally ok with the idea of christmas, and a christmas party. it's just not cool that club penguin decides to "include all traditions" in name only, and not in practice. (in other words, they should've also put in a few hanukah and kwanzaa decorations if they were going to call it a holiday party).
oh yeah, and unleavened bread? that doesn't show up until passover, or pesach in hebrew, which is a holiday around Easter time. did you mean latkes? ;)

Some religons don't believe in Christmas so some parents may not let their children play if they think that it will give them evil thoughts... my school does this all the time.
I think that it's nice that Club Penguin is including people who celebrate other traditions. *clears throat for History lesson* Walt Disney didn't celebrate Christmas, he actually celebrated Hanukkah. Anyway, I still think that the Club Penguin team should continue calling it the Christmas party. :/ and their excuse for the "including" thing is poor.

This is going off the point a bit, but when i went into the ski lodge, somebody did a smiley emotion,and it wouldnt go off the screen when i came out of the ski lodge! it got so annoying in the end i had to log off and log back on again!
Actually In fact Muslims and Buddhists LOVE Christmas why? because most Buddhists like any excuse to party. and most Muslims agree that Jesus was a great prophet so if a majority of the world celebrates Christmas why not call it a Christmas party?

I celebrate Christmas, and I am not happy with them calling it a "Holiday" party.
I also agree with the members only stuff. My penguin isn't a member, but since my cousin quit, I go on his member (even though it has mostly guy stuff :P). I think cp should just cancel the whole membership thing and let EVERYONE be a part of cp and buy clothes and stuff. That probably isn't gonna happen, but they should at least take away the members only crap.

So I had this idea that parties should be for everyone, but the catalogs and stuff should still be members stuff i mean, you can't pay for nothing, right? I remember old CP where there was maybe one or two member parties ever, maybe three. Now EVERY party has member stuff. The member parties were supposed to be very rare and somewhat special events maybe once a year,not every party. It's a bit off topic, but it's been an issue mentioned here many times.

Might I remind you that Club Penguin is aimed towards kids, and kids don't exactly follow politics. Also, there are NO politics on CP and Coins for Change isn't "crap." The kids who Coins for Change benefit help actually are grateful for penguins who donate. Lastly, I should add that it's probably a better idea to just let it slide. Sure, I am sorta dissapointed about the "holiday" stuff, but it's really not that bad.

I don't think calling it a holiday party makes much difference if they don't have any decorations for other holidays, your right. I used to be a member but am not anymore and I agree they shouldn't have members only rooms

okay well...first off its a "holiday party" so why change the name if you are just going to celebrate christmas aspects. Santa's sleigh,reindeer,elves,ect. thats all part of christmas!! Nothing of any other religion...
And also as it might be true...Club penguin was owned by some other company before disney right? If so..who was it because disney enforces more people to become members!!!!

i celebrate hanukkah, but i'm totally cool with calling it a christmas party. last year, when they actually had a menorah in the coffee shop, i was like, stop calling it a christmas party!
but u can't frost and festoon club penguin with nothing but christmas decorations and then announce that u feel like acknowledging other traditions. um, HOW much work would it have been to insert a couple of kinaras or dreidels into the decor????? at least they tried.....
to that one Anonymous guy: hey, jews and muslims and buddhists and everbody else are pretty cool too!

I completely agree with you. I may not know what a kinara is, but it really isn't much work to add other decorations! Disney is being prejudice against other holidays and it's not fair.

Good point! I'm a nonmember and they want to "include" everyone but only members get to have fun! The nonmembers get the Santa hat and a background! Is it just me or is that cheap? If they wanted to "include" all the cultures they would have thought of that BEFORE they put the party up!

So true. I'm a member but have a non member account too, and there is really nothing for non-members to do. Sure, you can play games but what things besides backgrounds can you spend your coins on? Also, I noticed something. When you have a nonmember account most servers are full and for members they aren't full. Disney either must really not have much money(which probably isn't true) or they think people will get mad enough about all the non member stuff and become a member. Disney needs to stop!

It doesnt make sence if they call it a holiday oarty, if the only show ONE tradition that takes place during the holidays! If the want to call it a holiday party, then they should show Hanuka, and the many other celebrations that take place during this season!
Ok why does it matter? I think its better to call it Holiday because some people don't celebrate Christmas so they could feel left out. It doesn't really matter what Club Penguin calls their party's. They choose not us. So people not to be mean but,
get over it. Holiday 09 is gonna be good. Its to best party so far!

Why? If club penguin gave nonmembers a room, then everyone will quite/wont be a member. Then CP won't earn money. And if it doesn't earn money, they will have to shut down club penguin. So without members, they would be no club penguin.

Guys, MILLIONS of children play Club penguin. Disney can't possibly afford to keep every single one of them happy. I'm not trying to hate on Mimo or all his fans, but CP is doing the best they can to give us all a happy holidays. And, the sleigh ride isn't really that great. U get a santa outfit at the end, which you can get from the treasure book by buying a toy. Even though there is some part of every party that is for members, They're not always that amazing. I mean, come on, it's a game, right? Please don't take this comment offensive, I personally believe CP could try to include nonmembers a little more, but we don't need to get upset over every little member activity. And, they could put up some Hanukkah and Kwanza decorations. Thanx :]

i think cuz christmas is a time for sharing and stuff and being nice that there shud be no member only things and for once non members can be just like members. i realise members r how CP rake in all the cash but for christmas..? it doesnt seem right!
MAYBE!! they shud have servers for different religions at this time..get some abroad decorators..expland club penguin..WORLDWIDE BABY! and rake in a bunch of cash not offend anyone and have fun!
