Here's a message from our good friend Billybob!

I know Coins for Change has come and gone, but I wanted to share an awesome trip I took recently to see the incredible work you contribute to every year.

By buying memberships and giving to Coins for Change, you guys have helped build a ton of schools across the world. One of the places is in a country called Kenya in Africa. Through your support, hundreds of kids are able to go to school. I got to visit the schools, play soccer with the kids there and see first hand the amazing work Club Penguin has done. They even gave us a goat as a "Thank You" gift!

It was awesome to see how much better their lives are because of you! So keep up the good work!

Club Penguin Billybob Announcement!

Breaking Club Penguin news! I have just received an email directly from our old pal Billybob!

He says:

"Hello Mimo777. 

It's been a while but I thought I would let you know that I will be returning to Club Penguin later this summer. I have been talking to the team a lot and they are very excited for my return. Once I'm back there will be many changes that I've been wanting to do for quite some time. One being we are going to be changing the penguins to iguanas. The team isn't crazy about it but I think I've convinced them!

So, I just thought I would let you know that little hint for the future.

Iguanas!? Seriously!? Ok when I first read this I was so excited for Billybob to be coming back! But now... I don't know.

How do you think this'll affect CP? Will it finally crash and burn after that character change? Or will CP get back on top?

UPDATE: Happy April Fools! Looks like I fooled many of you into thinking Billybob sent me that email! :P

BillyBob is LEAVING!

Today BillyBob posted on the Club Penguin blog that he will no longer be working with CP. I found out that he will be working with freshgrade.com. Lane has disagreed with some of Disney's decisions like the Marvel Super Hero Party. And Club Penguin's visits are way down from 8.5 million in 2009 to 3.3 million now.

Now lets hope that RocketSnail's new game will be as cool as CP.

Farewell to BillyBob. We wish you the best of luck in your next adventures. You will be missed.

Club Penguin Beta Team Chat Improvements!

Hello Penguins!

In our developer's update last week, we mentioned that there would be some new stuff launching on Beta Team. We also said there'd be something a little different to test... We need your help to test out a brand new improvement to the chat system!

We've heard that some of you find it hard to chat with friends because of the filters. You asked if we could make it easier to chat with your buddies online.

You asked... and we listened! We've made some big improvements for you:

•     Now you'll see suggested words above the chat bar as you write sentences!
•     You can click the words that appear, and the system will automatically complete the word for you. Now you'll be able to chat way quicker than before!
•     Tons more phrases than Ultimate Safe Chat... Over 300,000 phrases!

We want your help to test the chat system improvement before we release it on Club Penguin. Let us know what bugs or issues you find by submitting a comment in Beta Team. Remember that it's a test site, so things may not work the same way that you're used to (i.e. games, items, newspaper)

You can test the new chat system on Beta Team starting today! Can't wait to hear what you think.

Club Penguin Think WE! Speaking Tour

Club Penguin's Billybob wants to know if you want to help motivate other and make a difference in the world? If so, you can nominate your school about giving!

Club Penguin has teamed up with international charity group Free The Children to present "Think WE!" - a speaking tour and leadership program for students ages 8-14.

Similar to the Club Penguin team, the "Think WE!" speakers are passionate about making a difference around the world! They will share stories to inspire YOU so you will want to take action where you live and also around the world!

If you want to learn more about this free program, or nominate your school, click here to go to the Global Citizenship page. 

Pretty cool that this program is avaiable in English, French and Spanish!

Nominations for schools end Monday, August 8, so go there now!

How do I edit furniture in my igloo?

Why am I stuck at a blue, black or white screen?

Try clearing the cache on your web browser to get the latest files. You may have to do this a couple times. Here's how: http://support.clubpenguin.com/help/technical/clear_my_cache.htm
It's worth clearing your cache every week. You might run into problems less often by using free browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Make sure you ask for permission before you install anything.

Is Rockhopper coming to the Adventure Party?

Check the telescope at the top of the Lighthouse for a hint...

Club Penguin Welcome's New Penguins!

Since Club Penguin is celebrating favorite first memories this week, they want to welcome new penguins to the island.

Many of you said you wished you had items when you were new to Club Penguin so, now, every new player will receive a new background and hat! Check it out:

Club Penguin Supports Japan!

Club Penguin and all you awesome penguins are always helping others! Check out what Billybob had to say about the Japan devastation:

Hello Penguins!

A little over a week ago, a major earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, causing massive damage. For those of you affected by this disaster, know that everyone in Club Penguin is thinking of you and your family during this time.

Since last week, we've received a lot of inspiring comments and great suggestions from you about different disasters around the world. Many of you have asked about ways to help others when tragedies happen.

Over the next week, we'll be featuring a few blog posts dedicated to helping your community in times of need. And we'd like you to be involved!

We've already seen a bunch of your pictures, screenshots and videos dedicated to Japan. We'd like to feature some of your pictures on Club Penguin to show our support! Send your images to us here. We'll publish some of them in different places around Club Penguin in the next few weeks.

Ok, according to Billybob, the bug on Club Penguin that was causing many of us to be disconnected from the server, has been squashed. Woot!

It's about time. I know many of you were getting VERY frustrated. You will still need to clear your cache, but you should be good to go!

REAL Club Penguin iPhone App Coming Soon Says Billybob!!

Here is a pretty cool interview with Lane Merrifield AKA Billybob! He was in London awhile back and talks about most of the basic questions we have heard before.

He does talk about flying penguins, subscriptions, moderators, customer service and great ideas from all of us!



Looks like we will be seeing a REAL iPhone Club Penguin App within the next year! WOOT! Lots of cheap iPhone app fakes out there. They are not "a good user experience" Lane says. I reported this a while back too. ;-)

Like I predicted, I STILL think Club Penguin will make the first Virtual World non Flash app on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad!

I found this pretty cool Interview with Lane Merrifield, or as we know him, Club Penguin's Billybob!

In the interview he talks about a couple cool things like:

He got the idea of using penguins because, "penguins live in groups and have to work together in order to get things done, to be safe and thrive."

He also said, penguins are easy to animate! LOL.

Club Penguin's Billybob Emails Mimo With Exciting News!

Whoa! Amazing! Check it out! Billy Bob sent me another email. He wanted to give me a sneak peek to something that is coming "VERY" soon!

It is a Member Ninja game called Card-Jitsu Fire. Click here to see a video about the game!
