You heard that right! Lots of new stuff coming for MEMBERS ONLY! Wha? Even the advanced levels of some games will be for members only! No way! I can't believe it!
Here is the list Billybob gave us as stuff coming for Members:
~Make music at the Lighthouse: Starting today musical instruments will be available in the Lighthouse all the time, because we love to see you guys jam!
~Design your igloo: We know how creative you are with your igloos and we wanted to give you more. If you liked the T-shirt builder in Penguin Style, you're going to love the new Better Igloos catalog.
~Spy Phone Updates: EPF Agents will face greater challenges to keep the island safe in August. You'll receive new Field-Op orders with more Spy Phone games to test your skills. Plus you'll be able to obtain brand new elite gear with your medals!
~Earn Stamps: Stamps will be available for everyone, and we wanted to give members access to exclusive stamps and features. As a result, some of the harder levels in games will be made member only. The games that will be changing are Jet Pack Adventure, Catchin' Waves, Thin Ice, Astro Barrier and Aqua Grabber. Don't worry, everyone will still be able to play the first few levels.
I have a feeling I know what you all are going to say about all this, but let me know anyway! ;-)

As Billybob said, "As a result, some of the harder levels for the games will be made member only." Making Non-members more angry, this is most likely a plan that the Club Penguin Staff did to make more people buy memberships. Since, even they told me this in an email, they don't care about non-members.

Awesome, at some points, but then some updates are the same. Members think of the new things of less since they get front row seats to it. Members can get angry at Club penguin. Example: Club Penguin becoming educational. Takes away the whole point of getting home from school looking forward to relaxing on club Penguin.
My Point of View:
Club Penguin has become less of caring for the members/non-members to a profit. I no longer play Club Penguin, but I did see that when Disney bought out CP, it got a lot worse, the Staff were lazier, (Catalog items were re-used, same with free items at parties.) There were less IMPORTANT or INFORMATIVE updates, etc. Old CP was had the attributes of cheats (actual ones), More Freedom (numbers, some symbols, etc.), etc. The NEWER CP is more strict, Example: You can get banned for being rude, even if you didn't mean too. Taking away the fun, or point of CP.
Now, to Clear some things up.
Club Penguin was not as Said " Ruined" when it was bought out by Disney, but it did become more strict, and more of a business then a virtual getaway.
I am not saying that There should be less add-ons for the members, but there should also be some add-ons for non-members. The last time there was an update for members and non-members, no add-ons for members, was when Aqua Grabber came out, I'm pretty sure, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Woah. Guys, its TOTALLY fair! Members PAY actual MONEY to get this stuff! If the non-members could do everything members could, people wouldn't want to buy a membership because your supposed to have special benifits if your a member. If no one was a member, Disney would have to lay off workers, and maybe shut down Club Penguin! Being a member is about getting to do cool stuff others cant who dont pay! This is outrageous! I can't believe club penguin cares more for the members. No wait, let me revise that. I can't believe club penguin cares more about the kids that HAVE money. It makes me mad! Club penguin only cares for the money. If all those members that are enjoying club penguin don't see what's happening to club penguin, then Club penguin is just going to get more rich. So if any of you members reading this understand why we are all mad, then I advise you to not become a member because if you do, you are giving club penguin more money. I hope club penguin will see what mistake they have made before all the non-members have quit so everything is just for members. Billybob, if your reading this, I hope you understand why it's bad to have mainly everything for members. As you can see, not just members like music. I am a non-member and I LOVE music. So the instruments should be for everyone. Designing the igloos should be for everyone because I love to design thing, though I am a non-member! Are you saying I don't like designing, club penguin? Disney isnt ruining anything. At least non members can play for free. You dont have to pay to play club penguin unless u want to be a member which is only 6.00! On webkinz you had to buy animals to play they were like 10-17 dollars.

I think it is fair for members to ahve more rooms since they are the ones who pay. Im not saying non members are important, but members need to have more because they help make cp a better place. Club penguin isnt that expensive either. Unlike webkinz where u have to pay like 12 dollars for one account. club penguin is free! or for 6.00 u could be a member!

Lets rethink that, you are most likely a member, so you think it is, as for non-members, they think it's nothing new. Club Penguin has just once again, made it better for members. I've been playing for four years, and now... it's time to quit.
I am a member, and I can understand both sides up club penguin because I have been a non member at one time. As comming from buisness they have to make money and add incintives for members, but for non-members they still get money off of non members to. So club penguin is doing something o.k. I have a felling that non members will have benifets to look forward to real soon.

Members are more important because they pay. Non members still get things like flags, backgrounds, and pins! If non members could get stuff like that then memberships wouldnt of been invented for cp.

!ell, actually, webkinz is better, mainly because the code comes free with your plushie. Also, its 10-12 dollars, but is for one year. Plus, the only thing people who pay more money so they can become "deluxe" is a monthly thing, plus some other random thing and just points for the estore. and also, deluxe membership is 2$ for 1 month, and 6$ on Cp.

As, I'm not complaining, I'm just stating what seems most likely true, or are true. As, I was a non-member, am a member now, have a rare non-member account that I get on or used to get on.

I think Club Penguin is going Webkinz on us! I mean come ON! Educational activities?!?! This is a website where kids can escape their stresses of school and now it's turning into an educational website. If anybody reading this has ever played Webkinz, you know what I'm talking about. I don't know about you guys, but I'm boycotting the educational part of CP, EVEN if they promise one of their new stamps. Speaking of stamps, The new game changes? COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR. Before you know it, non-members will dissapear off the face of Club Penguin. I hope the Non-members get a break and the Educational Cp is an EPIC FAIL.

ReplyDeleteI am so excited for the updates! To all the people who say that membership is too expensive... it is 6 dollars. that is super cheap compared to some things these days. And not everything will be members only. Otherwise they would have you pay when you are making your account. ClubPenguin is doing the best they can and i do not know how anyone can call them lazy because new things come out all the time. (although i do agree that bringing back free items is pretty lame.) I cant wait for the new igloo catalog to come out because it said that you can create you own just like the tshirts.

(E.G Binweevils, MOshi Monsters, ROBLOX) All those games permit Non-members to actually DO something. Every game, and I say EVERY game, that Disney owns, does not permit Non-members to buy ANYTHING, except lousy backgrounds and stuff.

I just walked into the EPF HQ on Parka, and I'm busy counting, 7 non-member penguins, and I feel bad for them. You know, a lot of people were exciting about Stamps at first, including me, but once they were revealed, I felt kind of down. They were not what I expected, I hope non-members get a kick out of them atleast!

Someone said earlier that we should boycott Club Penguin, a good idea in a way, but if just non-members boycott, there is no point to it, as the members give them the money, not the non-members, so if you would want a good protest, then get members to quit/cancel their memberships, otherwise it'll be pointless.

First of all that'd be illegal and it'd cost a lot of money (to buy a server). There already is one by the way, just search "iCP VS3 Club Penguin Private Server" Anyways, if you have any questions, comment back, and I'll reply sooner or later.
Now, about this post.
Once again, This is not completely Disney's fault, yes, they did buy out CP, but Disney does not decide on which party goes next, what free items, etc. The Club Penguin Staff / Editors do. Yes, when Disney bought out Club Penguin, it did have a major downfall, it became more younger age friendly, and it made it too strict, yes Disney could've advised for that to happen, but it could've also just been the CPS (Club Penguin Staff) just trying to get a quick buck. Example: Coin Codes; Good idea, but it's overpriced and a scam, you could buy a membership for a month (or more) rather then just buying a puny little figurine and a coin code for 2 items online.

I've hated disney since I was seven. And now I am so upset. I stopped playing runescape because it was boring and now that club penguin is going educational there are no more good online games. Disney makes enough money a day to last all of them a lifetime and yet they still take millions from us. AND NOW THEY'RE TRYING TO TAKE BILLIONS! I WANT CLUB PENGUIN OUT OF BUSINESS AND THE REAL CLUB PENGUIN TO GET FIRED AND TAKE OVER IT WITH THE REAL CLUB PENGUIN!

All i get is £15 for my birthday and christmas and I spend that on birthday or christmas presents for my family. It's so unfair. My parents saved up for ages to get me a computer and now I cant even enjoy using it because CP are making you pay for everything. :(

You'll also have to pay for the servers, the domain, etc etc, which is why Club Penguin has members.
No, I do not support what CP is doing right now; I think they are going overboard.

I think they're taking advantage now that they know how much kids will beg their parents to pay for memberships. When I first joined CP (a very long time ago), I was shocked at the fact that non-members couldn't even buy clothes. THAT right there is a perfectly good reason to stop playing CP. I left CP for like a year and came back. That's when I saw the members-only party rooms. O.O Don't even get me started. At the Music Jam, the Casa Fiesta was TAUNTING us non-members. And the all-access pass? >:( AND the fact that you basically have to be a member to meet the Penguin Band because they're always in members-only rooms?
I am getting way too fired up about this. XDD

Well, technically... it is fair, because people are paying money to get cooler things. I still agree that CP should limit how much they give to members and how much time they spend on members. For example, has anyone noticed how the free items for members are like 10 times cooler than the free items for nonmembers?

I used to be a member, but I canceled it because I don't play enough for that $6 a month to be worth it. Now members can do so much more than a year ago. And, if I remember right, membership is more like donating to CP and the extra features are your thank you gift for giving them money. (They told me that in an e-mail) I think Club Penguin should just have some ads to pay. They never bother me on other sites....

Couldn't of said it better myself. I am a member, but I don't really care, I think of CP as a way to relax from school, and household jobs and all that. I just sit there and talk with my friends! Sorry non-members, if I could help, I would, Disney has enough cash anyway, can't they spare a couple bucks? They act like they can't, I think they are just being frugal, and stupid. Good luck in the future CP, I might just quit!

If non-members can buy anything, I would say, let them buy all the puffles and the puffle furniture! Not like the catalog updates much, and non-members have thousands of coins laying around, just because of not being able to spend them, I bought two new puffles recently, not much of a big deal, so non-members should be able to buy all the puffles, and they should be able to get up to 10 puffles.

Y'know, I was happy when CP announced that the Stamp Album would be for non-members too, but they've just put me down. I am happy for all the members, but pretty soon, if everything becomes like this, I have a feeling that people will quit CP. CP itself is a great website, but they need to realize that non-members play a part, and need a part. TBH, I only go on CP for pins, news, parties and free items. Plus, parties are really more for members, in my opinion. Still, members have something more to look forward too :)

I think that is downright rude to the non-members. CP is pretty much showing that non-members don't need as much stuff/games as members, just because members bring them money, they get the fun. It's not fair for people who don't have memberships for whatever reason e.g. they're too expensive or they live in a country where they can't get them. Club Penguin wouldn't have half the stats and the glory it's got without the nonmembers! So I say EVERYBODY, yes EVERYBODY, should complain to Club Penguin - they're taking it too far this time.

I know you are just trying to help nonmembers, but my parents wouldn't want to waster their money on something like that. So that would mean that I would have to pay for one. Not that I don't have $65, but I just want to keep my money for more important things. Why would I want to spend $65 (or $5 a month) for a membership on a site I don't go on very much any more, when I can go on fun gaming sites where I can spend hours on it FOR FREE! My replacements for CP lately has been games like ORISINAL or ADDICTING GAMES. there are tons of games you can play FOR FREE!
I still go on CP but not very much. If they make anymore changes, I will probably stop playing completely.

i personaly dont think cp is ruinining cp i think they are improving it so what if members can do more thats the poit of membership and if you cant afford six dollars then o well you can still play games and have fun i have many items that i can wear when my membership expires and they said new epf stuff for members they were talking about the elite gear which members can already get plus they will probably have a few new elite gear items for nonmembers and some one said something about hoping for elite puffles in the elite gear they already have the puffle whistle for members who use the code from herberts revenge so i really dont think Cp is being ruind at all
